i have 12v going into the coil and 12v coming out the other terminal on the coil but cant get it to fire. replaced the coil with two others i have..... am i missing something??? :16suspect
If you've tried two other coils, sounds to me like some other part of the ignition system. What ignition system are you running?
running a TFI setup from a '94-95 stang. just replace the stator in the dizzy, had the module checked at Advance and it passed, getting proper voltage and no wire breaks.... the one thing i dont like about this setup is that it has a remote mounted TFI module that is on a heat sink and bolted to the fenderwell
Dave...make sure you have 12 volts at the coil while cranking. If its dropping off during cranking...it may be the ignition switch going bad on you.Hope this helps you...Good luck. Try a different coil wire too.
Is the module and any other parts of your ignition grounded? If you have 12 volts at both sides of the coil it is not grounding and it will never make a spark until it finds a ground.
That is what you should love about it! ford done this to prolong heat related module woes they had for years.
needless to say, im gonna solve most of my problems and go with a different setup (something around a fox body setup)
Paint, dirt, and grease between the clamp and the distributor. Paint, gasket, dirt and grease between the distributor and block. It isn't hard to have some resistance to the flow of those pesky little lektrisikals!
