The Ranger is not doin so well. Ordered a Crank Position Sensor ( No spark, Coil resistance was out of spec, New Coil packs no help. New Crank damper, old one was broke, Left with CKPS or Computer, If CKPS dosn't fix will get scaned for any errors.)

Built bottem end of 250, got Head back from Valve Job; installed Eng and Trans (less head). Should finish most of the rest of it by tomorrow if its not too Hot 97 today, 98 or 99 tomorrow. We shall see. Theres a few Mickey Mouse things todo, but will get to them as I can.

I also had Ranger problems recently. I bought mine in 2001 & the tach didnt work properly . But it ran fine so i said what the heck. Well then the oxygen sensor, then coil packs then I let a shop convince me to put a crank sensor on it & $500 dollars later everything was fine for 2 months then skipping again so back to the shop I go & they tell me I need a DIS module that costs $400 dollars & I told em I wont putting that much money in that little piece of s&*t . Should have seen the look on his face anyway I got on the internet & did a search & found a used one for 35 dollars now it runs great, tach works right & all so watch out for the crank sensor deal.It was real easy to install the DIS. Good Luck Tim "my comet gt"Here is the link where I found the used DIS module http://www.ezfindparts.com

To shorten up a long story, I had no spark timing light worked on wifes car. Went thru all the ign stuff, rechecked Cam timing again, noticed a 2nd timing mark on Cam gear backplate. No mention of this ion my book. Older Datsuns used to have 3 marks; the books told you of this condition, sos you'd use the right one. Ranger OK now. I was almost ready to throw in the towel on this one.
