I have a 72 comet with a C4 small bell housing and I have a 1991 5.0 roller engine mated to it. I have a 50 oz. harmonic balancer up front and I assumed that the flex plate that a shop put on the eng. was also a 50 oz.
It sure seems like I have an imbalance somewhere. Does anyone know which flexplate and torque converter I should be using in this application. I am reading that the flexplate should be 157 tooth with a 10.5" bolt pattern and a 50 0z. counter balance. I think they put a 1800 stall torque converter in also. Appreciate any suggestions here.

AFAIK all torque converters for Ford V8 are zero balanced... You are correct about flexplate...

There were no applications that used a 157T, 50 oz version, have to go to aftermarket...
