this car was at the local cruise last night last night really looked bone stock from the outside. its was the zx1 model or w/e its called, the "sport" package i guess.. so it already had upgraded wheels and i think some kind of factory body kit. youd see it and think nothing. i seen a big "focus performance" sticker in the window and figured he was going to have a intake or something like that, nothing special aside from looking a little out of place at the classic car cruise in i cant say he had a cold air intake but he did have a rear axle
Not the first time I've seen that done, actually. There is a company that makes a kit to do that. What do those cars weigh? I'll bet it scoots right along.
i got a little curious and did some research it looks like you can get the full BOLT IN kit for $5,500 plus the cost of the engine/trans/rear and the kit uses a stock fox body 8.8 so you dont need to have anything on it cut or modified http://www.kugelkomponents.com/focus/focus.html
Is it just me, or is there room for quite a bit more engine under there? I have seen a 351w version on video... So there is at least room for 408 cubes under there. A 460 would probably be too long. Looks like the width is there though. A 400m might work... It is no longer than a 302. Everyone looks for somewhere to put those boat anchors. The Focus might be the answer! Stroke it to 500 cubes and shove it in there.
Yea,but that's how you you.. A.slip under the cops radar and B.have a blast during the redlight-redlight gran prix.Gotta admit, kinda high $$ for the conversion kit though.
