Before I pulled my 200 out, I ran a compression check. Specs say 175. Here are numbers I got.
    #1 120
    #2. 125
    #3. 100
    #4. 145
    #5. 155
    #6. 125
Since I haven't found a bore mic to borrow, if the cylinders good, just new rings plus I'm wanting the bigger valves and manifold mod for two barrel. Opinions please

the 200 isn't worth the time or money to rebuild much less any HP mods.
    250...more bang for the buck...JMO

Your specs are lying... Compression dropped to around 8:1 in '72, 125-130 is approx what you should read... The higher cylinders are probably loaded with carbon...

I agree on the 200, don't waste your time, someone here just advertised a 250...You'll need a few parts to install it, mainly a 250/302 bellhousing and torque converter... I believe motor mounts are different.. Others can no doubt fill in all the details...

BTW when Ford introduced the 250 in '69 it was claimed up to 50 mph it would accelerate evenly with a 302...

My 250 Maverick feels like a tired stock V8 compared to my fresh rebuilt 170 in my 63 Falcon. I do believe when I rebuild the 250 and replace the cam in it will be able to spank a stock or over cam / carburetor 302
