Did I wire this correctly?

    Hey there folks I’ve been stumped. I’m working on a 73 Comet with a 302 with the warning light cluster I can’t come across any wiring diagrams other than the one on maverickcomet.com, I am thinking about just buying the ones off ebay. it’s got all the original wiring and I am just missing my alternator/voltage regulator harness theoretically I should be able to get power to the cars cluster right without it right? I am going to try this in the morning but I believe have my starter solenoid hooked up correctly according to the wiring diagram but if any of you could tell me if the wiring is the same on your comet or not I could have wired this completely incorrectly as well I wasn’t 100 percent sure if the yellow fusable link was a positive or ground but when I traced it back in the diagram to the ignition switch I assumed it went on the positive side I also hooked up the red light blue because it went to the ignition switch connector according to the diagram. I eventually might just trace the wiring all back to see where everything goes but I figured if anyone on here can lead me in the right direction by showing me their starter regulator ignition wiring it would be greatly appreciated also I am going to hookup a ground and my positive wire in the morning this is just a picture of the solenoid ignition wiring

    Where is your battery cable?

    If it's the black cable, that feeds to starter, batt cable connects to first post with the yellow wire.

    Yeah I don’t know if I mentioned above I was wandering if the yellow wire was in the right place the positive cable is taken off sorry if that confused you

    I am mainly just trying to find a gentlman nice enough to send me a picture of their wiring I’m almost sure I have my starter solenoid wired wrong I think that yellow is supposed to go on the small contact

    No absolutely not, they are trigger and ign resistor bypass terminals, only active during cranking.

    Yellow is power to ign switch and fuse panel, must be continually hot.

    You don't want to see my solenoid hookup, wired with a '96 Ranger PMGR starter harness.

    Okay sweet, thanks for the advice also I really do appreciate it I’ll let you know what happens when I hook up a battery to it! Also love the setup on your car, what intake manifold are you running? I’m running the same Holley street warrior carb and I have yet to start up the motor to see how it runs I’m trying to find a better intake manifold as I was stupid and bought a new weiend intake manifold, they unfortunately have warping problems and I don’t want to deal with that in the future

    I've never heard of warping issue. I've had a Weind Stealth on my 72 Comet for the last 18 years. I always use studs on the block and nuts on the intake side. I've never heard of one warping. It also a a Holley Street Warrior Carb.

    I am running the street warrior carb I hope she will run okay and before my first start of the motor I will stud it instead of using bolts, a lot of people have leakage problems with coolant going into the oil and the problem I believe is with my specific intake manifold which is the weiend warrior intake manifold, which is a new style the old weiends are good I wanted to try a new weiend intake so hopefully nothing goes wrong

    Thunderhead289 actually made a decent video on his problem however his theory could be wrong

    I have a Weiand intake, no problems. It's one of the last units cast in USA before production went overseas.

    I purchased two new warped Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifolds prior to my purchasing a Weiand Stealth. I checked the second Edelbrock with a straight edge prior to installation, that is how I discovered the warpage. Summit Racing took back both intakes. This took place a number of years ago. Sh-t happens!

    That relieves my anxiety a lot hearing that they are reliable
    Wow! I am not suprised to be honest though these new parts arent always garenteed, I thought it was just with Weiend, I realized warrantee is important over the years

    Thank you so much Tom, everything works fantastically, I got it all wired up I appreciate it!
    Now I gotta figure out weather I want to keep this Chinese hei distributor or go back to the old school distributor.
