Yeah, it's not a matter of need. BUT the machine shop that's 50 yards away from my woodshop is moving half of their stuff out, 3 inside bays with a rollup on each one and one outside concrete pad is probably coming up for rent. A 12x6 storage room behind included, and a parking lot with room for about 6 cars too. $400 a month, on top of the $1450 I already pay, same landlord. And I rent a storage spot with a maverick and a few other things in it already, so I would just have to cover $300 a month. And I need to work on 3 mavericks, one Cougar, slightly, and a sailboat. Ok, I about have myself talked into it. But what can I do to cover the rent money and make it completely painless?

Well, with all that extra space, you could afford (time and space wise) to pick up a project car now and then. I know I see in the Buy-Sell things cars for extra cheap all the time, that just need a tranny, engine, or some general tune-up work. Pick up one every now and again and turn it around and sell it. If you have a car that needs a tranny it can sit in your extra bay for a couple months while you find a cheap replacement.

Just a thought, I did this a couple times in college to help pay the bills. It will cut into your own projects a bit though!

Heck, you can rent space just for car storage. Cant find anything around here for less than $100 a month just for storage.

    Done did the deal.

Three bays with roll ups, outside pad, parking lot, extra storage, mine starting next month for $400. Now I'm going to have to buy a car trailer and start snagging some of the Mavericks scattered around AZ.

    Pits and lifts?

Can I live in one bay? I don't require much feeding and I'm house broken.

    Are you heat proof?

metal building is going to get toasty in the summer. No pits, one bay has a beam with a rolling lift hook, goes the length of the bay. So engine pulls will be easy, a guy gave me an engine block and tackle set up not too long ago also.
