My bro needs a P/Steering pump for his 5.0 stang (he has one too) and I thought about giving him mine from my parts car.

However, I am swapping the 86 engine into the maverick, and wondering if I re use the old style P/S pump, or the newer style from the HO engine, thanks again!!

    that depends

It might not matter but it depends on which water pump your going to run. Like I said it might not matter. Just, what over all set up are you going to use.

you'll have to be careful with PS pumps....the Mustangs use a different pump to supply a higher pressure to the steering rack.

Then because they use a higher pressure system, do I have to update the p/s hoses, or should I just use the original pump??
