    why Ford changed to smaller spark plugs in '75 & later 302 cylinder heads?...

    Was it 75 or 78

    I think it had something to do with less space needed and heat dissapation . I want to know why they made those useless stamped rockers too . It probably all has to do with saving money .

    My 77 had the small plugs.

    Maybe it was that you couldn't get the big ones in and out with all the smog crap hanging there.

    Correct me if I am wrong but I thought they changed spark plugs to a design that operated at the best self cleaning temperature since they had to change to unleaded fuel in 74 or 75 I think and unleaded has a higher burn off temp than leaded. I think there was also sumthing to do with the catalitic converter getting damaged. I dono, Im going off the top of my head here, sumone probly knows for sure tho.
