door bushing's

    Has anyone attempted to replace there door bushing's in there maverick? Is there a tool or what is the process? Thanks for any input.

    you mean hinge bushings? Yes, they're simple. Hardest part is getting the door removed to do it. Usually takes 2 people or creative use of a floor jack.

    Easiest way I've found is, if you can find them, get a set of passenger side hinges off a junked car. They are usually in real good shape. Then pull your fender off, keep the door closed, and change the hinges one at a time.

    I was telling some of the guys this at the Round-Up:

    You can remove the door hinges without removing the door or fender. Just remove the plastic splash shield behind the front wheel. With the front wheel off, you can reach in there and take off the hinges. Take one hinge off at a time. DO NOT open the door. Fix that first hinge, put it back on and then remove/repair/re-install the other door hinge.
