picked up an EFI fuel pump from a friend and bench tested it today. well, it kicked on (wired straight from a car battery) but wouldn't pump any fuel out of the gas jug. can it kick on but still be bad? just wanna be sure before i have to buy a new one for $100
I think Gene nailed but to answer your question depending on what type Vane/gyro etc....it can run and not pump.....
the pumps suck and sucking. they need to be gravity feed. so try puting the pump below the fuel source.
I had one from an F150 go bad like that. I bought it at a junkyard for my 2.3 swap. Worked great at first, then started losing pressure, until it just quit pumping all together. Still ran though. Just went and bought a new one for 90 bucks..
im gonna try switching the wires on it today. if that doesnt work, i may put an electric fuel pump for a carb in front of it to act as a 'feeder'. we'll see what happens
I had one that wouldn't pick up at first. I jiggled it arround a little cause I imagined it had an air pocket and it started working all of a sudden. Startled me when it did...
well i done everything that i knew to do to it so i just went and bought a new pump at the local advance and now it works fine thanks for the helps guys
