I have installed a 1 wire alternator that I purchased from CVF along with their brackets. From what I have read in their directions and on this site, the pos from the battery goes to the solenoid post then a wire from the same post goes to the back of the alternator with a fuse installed. I understand that the external regulator that I had is able to be removed but is there any other wires that need to be hooked back up? I have, what appears to be black with an eyelet on it, a wire that says fusible link on it that is in the harness, does it need to be hooked back up? And, how does the power from the battery / alternator get back to the fuse box and other places. I have read multiple threads but electrical is my downfall. I tried looking at the wiring schematic for my car but wanted to reach out for help from someone that is much smarter about all this than I am.

I posted the wiring diagram from their site as well.

Since originally posting this, I believe I have it wired up correctly but I am not getting power out of the fusebox. The brown with yellow tracer has power going in to the fusebox but there is nothing on the other side of the firewall.
    Suggestions?

The old regulator and it's wiring harness can be removed. You have no power anywhere in the fuse block, even with the ignition in RUN or ACCESSORY? Power from the solenoid to the fuse block in a '70 should be a Blk/Yel wire (maybe the black looks brown after 50+ years). Lights, horn, and emergency flasher should have power without the ignition switch being on.

The black wire with the fuseable link you asked about was used to excite the old alternator and regulator, not needed now.
