I recently posted a message wanting to part out my 1977 Mav, it has a blown engine. Well school is about to start back up and I still have no ride. So I got to thinking I may just replace the engine and get it back on the road. Heres my question. The engine that is blown is a straight six (250) There is plenty of room under the hood so im thinking I might like to stick a V8 in there. Would this be a difficult switch to make? Any advice on this matter would be greatly appriciated.

while a 302 V8 will bolt in.There is alot more to it than you realize. First of all you need the frame mounts for the engine and transmission, then you'll need all the accessoriey brackets & pullies, radiator, exhaust manifolds, etc. The quickest, simpliest and cheapest way is to replace the 250. Unless you have a V8 Maverick or Comet doner car, some of this stuff is not easy to find.

Does anyone have a picture of all the parts that you need to perform the swap? I would like to do this myself down the road, and it would be nice to have reference to look at to make sure I get all the parts ahead of time. Not so much on the car as a picture of the parts laying loose per say.
