Well, I got my headers. They cost the same as the Tubular Automotive. They are however backed by a better name! Doug Thorely.
My friend who is my engine builder called to talk to his old friend Doug but he has sold the company. His son is still there and he asked why they quit making them. Seems they haven't!! They are listed under the part number for a Mustang. I don't have it yet but if and when I get it, I WILL post it. I haven't even seen them yet. I have been sick. My kidneys are having probs and my liver too. I still have to work so I just drag all the time.

My friend tried them in the car with the 351W and they fit without mods and leave about 1 1/2 inches on each side!! He said they cost $400 but he thinks they are well worth the money. Me too. I was hesitant to use the Tubular Automotive headers after talking to them. They couldn't answer a few questions about the height. Anyway I was going to go with them if I couldn't find anything else because the guys on this board said they had good luck. Anyway. We now have an alternative if your interested.

Like I said. If I can get the part# I will. If not, call and talk to them and let them know that your wanting them. They will at least talk to you. We need to keep the Mav's in the spotlight.

As much as I like the Mutt-stangs I really love my Mav!
(I have had 2 Stangs) This is my first Comet!!

Interesting. What size primary tubes are they? I'd like a set of 351w swap headers that acutally breathe, but may end up going to a MII front end and using some mustang headers. My customheaders are holding me back.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the info. I'd also like to know primary size, and some pictures too if you get a chance. My 302 headers don't have that much clearance.
