I have a 69 F-100 with a 390. It has longtube headers on it. I had the heads rebuilt. It seems like the truck has an exhaust leak. I have new collector gaskets on it and the bolts are tight. I believe the leak is coming from where the header bolts to the head. I have tighten the bolts a couple times but it still seems to leak. The gaskets are also new. Any help is appreciated

Get a set of the copper header gaskets. They are pricey, but won't blow out and leak like the paper ones do. I have them on my old 84 pickup. It would blow out the paper ones in just a few days. The copper ones have been on it three or four years, no leaks...

Those should work. I got mine at Advance, Mr Gasket brand, about the same price IIRC....

Question - Did everything work prior to the cylinder head work? Meaning the headers were on the truck before, without any problems? Same cylinder heads?

I have a friend who had a similar problem with new headers. They found out that there are different truck headers with different sized exhaust ports.
A mismatched big hole and little hole would not seal. Bolt spacing is all the same.

Make sure the headers are straight. A couple of months back I did a head job on a 68 f100 with a 360. headers didn't leak before the job but, were warped when I took them off. I had to replace them.
