I have owned a 1974 Comet for 2 years. Never once has the Fasten Seatbelt dash light or buzzer come on.

Today, pulled it out to wash if before going to a show. When I got back in to leave the light & buzzer comes on. Checked under the seats and all connectors are disconnected. They have never been connected since purchase. Thought if I just jumper out the connector at the passenger side it would fake out the circuit. To my surprise not only did it not work but now the engine would not even crank.

Found this site http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/seatbelt_74.html that has a great article about the dreaded seat belt interlock system. Followed the instruction at the end of the article to DELETING INTERLOCK FUNCTION. Succes - no light, no buzzer, starts and runs. Off to the show. Get 5 miles from home and the light and buzzer goes on.

    Now for the questions?
How do I permanently disable or remove the system?
    Where is the "Actuator" module?
How do you get to the buzzer in the dash Above the glovebox.?

Just unplug the buzzers & get rid of them. No reason to "fake out" the circuit.

How do you get to the Buzzer? It sounds like it is behind the dash above the glovebox.

Also, why do you think it suddenly started working?
