few more ponies?

    74 Maverick 250 3spd auto 78trans am 400 "some" go fast goodies:)
    is there any little things that i can do to get some more power out of my 250 6cyl. and dont say swap to a 302 lol

    I would say advance your distributor 1 to 2 degrees over stock. Adjust your a/f ratio with a vacuum guage for max vacuum at idle. There is always installing the tried and true no3. and no4 port divider. Install a pertronix ignition kit and flame thrower coil and gap the plugs a little wider. You could also convert from conventional oil to synthetic... but thats 30 dollars an oil change plus cost of filter :(... and it could cause other problems with seals... just depends on how long you want to keep the engine in there. I gained about 10 mph on top end with synthetic (85mph to 95mph) Those are just some suggestions.. they seemed to pep my 200 up a little.

    Sure get your self a Aussie 2bbl head and add a cam. I found them as cheep as 450 for the head and intake...I think the stock exhaust works. There are also crossflow engines from down under that will add even more power...and yes you can put an aussie crossflow head on a US 250 block. just a few mods.
    Your best bet is the Aussie 2bbl head Good luck
