Some may remember I was building an engine test stand. Glad to say it is finished and working fine. I have used it to test an engine I built for a friend. Here are a couple of pix. Not pretty but cheap.
Thanks Guys. It is handy. On the 1st run we found a little water leak and a little oil leak. Easy fix on the stand, easy to get to. Nope, not street legal, lol. And too small size of wheels to get good traction. plus no steering. But loud, it is!!!
Put a good paint job on it and and split loom the wiring - sell them babies on ebay! p.s. what the heck darn do those headers fit (besides your test stand)?
Wow, that's awesome. The engine test stands we got at school don't even have a radiator, neither a gas tank, well, at least the carbureted engines. Great work!
Rick, he got those headers with the racecar, 87, 88, Mustang I think. The whole stand was built with extra, left over parts from other projects.
Looks really good! All very functional! Now,,, hook a dyno up. I do see some things needing change,,,, send to me and I will "fix it" Glad to see someone who did it an not,,,geez, that would be nice! Also, let people know not to throw headers away,, You can use them on the next 1. Again, Nice job!
Does that seem pretty stable? Was it tippy at all when the engine was goosed? I ask because I have carried the memory with me of running a 460 on the ground once. When you realize how much twist car engines have, you get respect for an engine that is lightly secured. I goosed the throttle on that 460, words cannot describe how FAST that thing went rolling away! Just a quick goose, before I knew what happened, that engine was doing flips across the lawn. Maybe it was just the brute torque of the 460.
