I have been reading on advantages/disadvantages of using a for 8.8 instead of a 9 inch. The big thing for me is price and the 8.8 is a lot cheaper than the 9 inch. From what I have read it seems that they are durable. The 8.8 I want is from a Ford explorer because of the 31 spline axles. The thing is that you can't get a c-clip eliminator for the explorer 8.8. Is that a major problem for around 475hp? Also I have read about how there is a centersection offset. Is that a problem for using this axle?

If anyone has done this swap and can share how it went it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
