Did all the Aerostar vans come with a automatic floor shifter? I had one back in 86 or 87 that did, and was wondering if they all did. And do any of you know if they were a rod or a cable type shifter? I was thinking about it the other day, thinking that it might make a good shifter for the 82 pickup.

I've never seen one with an auto floor shifter. My grandpa bought one new with a 5 speed manual back in '87. I've never seen another one of those either. He has a '93 now that's column shift automatic. It's a cable shifter.

Hummm.....Might just be the early ones that had the floor shifter then. Ours was a 86 or 87, can't remember now for sure, but I do remember it had a AOD that kept going out, and nobody around here could figure it out. That was why we got rid of it after about six months and three tranny rebuilds by the FORD dealer. We both remember it had a tall floor shifter, and it would be ideal for the pickup. After that one, I started calling them Aerosluts, cause that 'ho about broke me, lol.

I've also never seen one of them.

If someone finds a picture of one in a junkyard, take a snapshot please
