My 1977 Maverick had this one on it... I went through all the charts and found that a ACDelco 336-1020 would fit it... it does not, wrong mounting bolt pattern. What is a number to replace a D2AF-11131-CA??? I guess they do not make the D2AF any longer. I have a 250 6 cylinder.
Take your pick, Rock auto has approx 20 listings. The 250 uses a two bolt starter, 200 a three bolt. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...0cid+l6,1132298,electrical,starter+motor,4152
Correct.....but there are 2 different bolt patterns.... one has bolts diagonal the other they are offset from the center.... I went with the 3124... the 336-1020 does not fit.
Excepting some manual transmission applications, AFAIK all starters for late '60s up 240, 250(prob 300), 289, 302 & 351 are one in same. Ford's in house number, listed for general replacement in all these applications was a SA-660. No doubt long since discontinued. There was a D2AF-11131-sumpthin' on my Comet. Tossed it into starter bin & installed a Ebay $29 PMGR starter, been on there nine years without issue.
No idea what you mean with 1988 or 1989? I have the same ebay PMGR starter on my '96 F150 5.0/302. At least 30+ years same starter mounting was used.
Advance Auto Parts shows (5) different starters that will fit your application: Here is one of them: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p...9-P?navigationPath=L1*14920|L2*15006|L3*15663
Did you wire the starter as recommended for PMGR starters, starter hot all time, triggered with something like 12ga. wire to fender solenoid?
