I've had one in my '99 Superduty that I bought new. Never had a lick of trouble with it in 10 years.

The early two valves are known for spitting spark plugs out, when they did the casting on the heads they left little for the spark plug threads.
I believe in 2000 they put a little more meat on the heads and made them allot stronger but the first couple years they run they had that problem.
Other than that they run good.

I have a F350 V10 I bought new with 275000 miles. Got a hoorrible knock in the oil pan yesterday. We are pulling the motor next week. Before this ran great and made the company lots of money.

A buddy of mine had a '99 F150 with the 4.6 that spit the spark plugs out as well. Of course a couple of weeks after he had that fixed, the truck burned to the ground because of a faulty cruise control switch.
