What size fuse do I need for my A/C ? I have a 1976 Maverick 6 cyl (250cid) with factory air. I look at where the old one came out of and on the left side of the slot is says Heater and 15amp the right side says A/C and 30amp. Where can you find these shorter than normal fuses? I've tried Checker, Pep Boys and Walmart with no luck. Thanks.
For some harder to find items, I've had good luck with local smaller parts stores, especially the ones that have been in business for a long time. They have a tendancy to have the lesser purchased items more often. They aren't always more expensive, also. A number of them even have old stock that have been sitting on the shelves collecting dust much to the delight to many of us. The chains and discount stores only tend to have items that are in current demand. For example, I just needed new rotors for the '76 4 door I just got. None of the chains had them in stock, although they could order them. A local parts store had them, in stock, and for $10/each cheaper to boot! NAPA stores are also good sources for parts, especially for older vehicles. They tend to have more sources for items even though they may not have everything you need in stock.
