    What I meant was...

I experienced sudden, complete, unannounced, total and unconditional electrical car death on the highway this morning. Apparently, I had (accidentally ;) ) replaced the fusible link from the solenoid to the fuse box with a lower amperage fuse.

My urgent question...what is the prescribed amperage for the fusible link from the solenoid to the fuse box on my '75 4d?

    Thanks...
    Atzy.

You need another fusible link. Usually they are used when you have amperage spikes, which will blow a fuse. But a fusible link takes time to blow and can handle inconsistent and rare voltage spikes.
