I want to build a new engine for my mav, or maybe another mav..if i can find one...starting mid, to late next year.I've been doin my research, and im thinking on building a total custom, twin turbo, daul carb, nitrous fed, pure drag 250 I6...it can be done..sure it'll cost a lot, and will require many custom parts to be built..but it can be done..the only main plans i have, are to build a custom turbo system(more of a souped up RAM system) for each of the two carter rbs 1-v's..yes, 1 barrels..boring out the block and using hi pro 302 pistons(has been done before), and getting a custom cam built by none other then crank cams.. high capacity oil system, custom roller's, split, daul exhaust( as in 1,3, and 5 on one manifold, 2,4, and 6, on the other)...and all the other little drag stuff to a custom head, with over sized water ports, ect...I figured Id wanna do this, as MY first personal drag engine, rather then going with the norm, 302...so, what do y'all think??insane?? sound cool??I think it does..how much HP/tourque do ya think it'll make??

anyone think a turbo'd 250 wont run? check out this site, though it's only a 4 cylinder, but still...be patient as it's a pretty big file.

not bad for half as many cylinders as we're used to!

James; sounds very cool, but very expensive. Good luck! Make sure to post pics when you get started.

Wouldn't be my first pick, I like the sound of a V-8 with a nice cam out duals....but hey that's what this Hobby is all about. Being different and doing it your way! I say good luck and keep us up to date! We all can't be the same....it wouldn't be any fun that way!

Good luck, but seriously, do a lot of consideration. It is easy to daydream about fantasy's of having the baddest inline dual carbed six in the country, but, unless you are rich, which I doubt you are, you have the worlds most expensive Maverick with a 6 cylinder. I can fully understand why you want to do it, it is basically for the same reason that many have become interested in the 4 cylinder scene, they wanted to do something different.

If you are dead set on the 6 cylinder thing---do your homework. It might be a lot more $$$ efficient to get a 3.8 L supercharged 6 cylinder engine out of a mid 90's tbird and figure out how to swap it in. You are talking 230 horses right out of the box stock.

I would like you to succeed, but I know how hard earned my $$$ comes, and I would hate to follow that rainbow just to find a rusted pot of water on the other side.

Good luck, and make sure you post pics.

It can happen, look at MavMan's turbo car!
