Hi everybody. My 1973 Comet started leaking gas while it has been sitting this winter. Coming from the top of the tank. Also when I remove the gas cap it has alot of pressure even though I haven't ran it in months. Do I need an aftermarket vented cap? Original cap on it.

how much gas is in the tank? I would clean out the stock vent system.

The pressure relief valve in your cap is bad or stuck change the cap

I'd pull the tank and have it checked for leaks. I have personal experience with this.
