Just wondering what would happen if I plugged off the charcoal canister. I am putting a 1973 gas tank in a 1972 car, guess that will work.
The gas fumes need to vent somewhere and Mavericks do not have vented caps. I would recommend hooking it up since it dose not rob any power from the engine.
I pulled my cannister and put a vacuum cap on the line. It almost caved in my gas tank! You need a vent.
Just for the record, That cardboard tube that goes from the canister to the air cleaner is still available from Ford. Part # is D4ZZ9D667A for a 40" piece.
Cannister...what cannister...lol. Seriously I dont have a charcoal cannister on mine...is it because its a 70 model?
Anyone have one of the canisters for sale? I have a 73 Mav, factory V8, but the canister was missing when I bought it. Thanks. Email me at cricket3@pacbell.net -Corbin
