ok, it's time for new tires and I plan on changing gears too. Curently I am runining 2.78 gears, 205/60/15's in front with 7" rims and 215/50/15X8's in the rear. Is there a way to figure out how your spedo will be offset by each size change? I am going to stick with the tire size in front. The rear tires need to be taller if I use say 3.55's or 3.25" So I guess I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions? What's the best combo and how fat of a tire can I fit in the rear, how tall should it be too?

go to firestone.com i did this when i was looking at firehawks.(which i ended up buying and loving) as you are looking at the various sizes, there is a spot that tells you the diameter of the tire based on each size. in the back of my mav i have 235x60x14 and oddly enough, it is the same height as a stock tire. my speedo remains accurate. good luck

My car is a '71 and although I run a 9", it is the same length of my stock 8". I currently run a 295/50/15 on a set of 8" rims with a 4" backspace. I fits great...but the same tires on a friends '72 do not fit...but his rear is slightly lower than mine. Mine don't rub though...so I'd guess that you should measure your usable space and buy accordingly. They are mega wide and look awesome.
