gears and wiper delay

    1971 2 door maverick,302,c-4, 1984 chevy truck,396, 38.5 super swampers, 8inch lift
    i have two questions:

    1. what year and model of ford pickup to get the windshield wiper switch with the delay box, i have read about it but forgot what to get it out of.

    2. i have 2.79 gears in my rearend and was wanting to change them out to a 3.73 or something around that, i was wanting to know if i can get them to fit into my 8" rear-end and if so then where can i buy a set and about how much will they run me?

    '75 - '79 F series pickup trucks. Autozone and similar stores sell a replacement, Wells #SW1013 for $39.95.

    What, what, what?

    I've never heard of a bolt-on wiper delay...anything. Could someone please clue me in on this?

    3.8 ratio is as close as you can come to 3.73 for your 8" rear. As you go down in ratio, posi should be a greater consideration.
    J.C. Whitney sold wiper controls for years.
