After talking to dad today I decided to keep my old truck. I like the truck but hate the 390 in it with a passion. I have wasted enough money on it and I am done with it. Dad has a pretty good 351w that he will let me have. It runs pretty good now but shows its age. I plan to put new rings and bearings in it to freshen it up. It already has an aluminum intake and shorty headers so I plan to use those. I am planning on getting a set of 69-73 351w heads to put on it. I figure it should run pretty hard.

Your 390 must've been a turd. A good 390 would literally eat the tires off a shortbed truck like that. My old '67 Galaxie had the original 390 w a 4bbl/c6 and 2.79 gears and it would do a pretty good 1 wheel peel through first. Anyhoo, hope the 351 satisfies you, looks like a pretty nice lil truck.
