Is there enough clearance to use a Granada Console with a Hurst Competition Shifter? It's bolted to a toploader and was wondering if in 2nd and 4th gear if the shifter will hit the armrest.
I cant tell ya but I can add more problems that you may incounter. The shifter is bolted to the side of the transmission so it is offset to the left. The console opening is centered so it will definately cause a problem. Hurst used to make offset shifter handles (probably still does) but the shifter handle on mine is not removable.
Mine has an offset shifter - Shifter kit is from a 65 mustang. The shift lever is about about 3/4 inch to the left of center on the tranny. I already have the console coming so I will find out ..
Just in case I bought this stick so I can cut the original stick and weld this one on below the boot ...
Got the console ready to go. Recovered the center insert with adhesive backed felt and it looks much better. Have the boot ready to go as soon as I dremel a hole to mount it in.
