I remember from the old message board a post about Granada Consoles, and I also remember someone posting a picture (Mavaholic?) of one in their Maverick. The interior was blue and there were some gauges in the console as well. Anyway I was trying to find this picture again, but the archived message boards start too far back to find that post. Does anyone have the link or even a picture that they can post of it? Thanks. -Corbin
Thanks Mavaholic. Is it just me or are those consoles hard to find? I believe those came in the Granada Ghia cars?? Anyway I wanted to see it again because I am interested in finding one to put in my car eventually (when I get the interior back it ) I really like the gauge setup. Thanks again. -Corbin
Shifter Mavaholic, Can an automatic floor shifter be set into that open compartment, or is it too far back? Thanks, Dan
hey!!!!!! what kind of seats are those and what year did they coe out of and the console .... what year granada? and are they easy to find? and since my car has bench seats how hard is it to swap to bucket seats? thanks alot! dan
Well, from what I remember talking about this on the old message board the four lights on the top are for warning lights, and the open compartment is for a floor shifter. Since his is not a floor shift he didn't need the hole and covered it with a piece of stainless (I think) and made a nice little tray. Very nice setup. -Corbin
I had a '76 Monarch Ghia (R.I.P.) with automatic transmission that had the same console and IIRC, the console had that same metal tray in it, so it's likely a stock item, just another "place for your stuff", to paraphrase George Carlin.
you are correct, the 4 lights are warning lights. Low Fuel, Door Ajar, Trunk, & Lights. All the consoles I've found came with floor shifters, both automatic and manual. You could probably line up the console to fit your shifter. I do have a flat piece of stainless to cover the shifter hole. One day I will convert this car to a T5 so I will use the shift hole then. The seats are Escort GT's without the headrest, mounted to Maverick bucket frame rails. Bolted right on.
