    car....tails

This is a classic story of old school simplicity a large dose of C.I. and a 4 barrel Edelbrock is just where this story must begin. 302 of them to be exact throw in a 600 Edelbrock and off we go.
It all started in the spring of 1994 …
The mustang has taken yet another turn for the worse and there I was a 15 year old boy looking for his first car not to say I didn’t have options but I was faced with buying a 1985 ford ranger v6 auto, a dark blue metal flake 1979 mustang II or a powder blue 1976 for maverick. The choice to me was clear my dad and I got started.
My dad and I found her in a bone yard just off route 66. named wises auto salvage in west Tulsa, ok. She was born in to this world with an inline six and full trim. This still graced the frame rails until that fate full summer day dad and a family friend (my god father) Steve Davis started the tear down.
Off came the hood and the air cleaner. a piece of chain and a tree branch to pull the old tired mill from its home. decades of rust and leaky oil covered the engine bay. a lot of time with a wire brush and gasoline and we could see the frame rails again.
Swapped the inline six for the v8 and a c4 Trans from the 4door donor car and there you have the start of a 16year old kid and his dream.
The rise and fall of this little blue bombshell transpires over the next 15 or so years. 2 motor rebuilds and 4 trans swaps later the list of countless small knick knack parts receipts piled in the glove box and here we are 2011 my second deployment to Iraq finally starting a real build.
