That is just a little out of range. Although I did see a couple of years ago that a original from 1972- 1969 GTO in purple go for $5600.00. I can think of a hundred things I could do to my REAL!!!!! Mavrick for that amount of money.

Saw one just like it in an antique store in New York (upper NY state, not NYC) for $15. I didn't buy it b/c I didn't like the fake looking tail fin...

From YOU, maybe! (his thoughts, "I got one on the hook! :bouncy:).

I heard the term,"new age" 20 years ago (showing my OLD age. ;)) It's strange that it's still around (the term - and me!).

'Going to be an interesting auction to watch.

i have read that all the old hot wheels in "girl colors" (pinks purples etc) are alot more sought after by collectors since they never sold well originally and there are alot less out there

Correct, I collect Redline Hot Wheels, Pink didn't sell well, so now they are the most sought after, I found a pink 55 Nomad in a guys basement once, it was worth @ $500 at the time, so I told him, and he sold it quick.

    It's not a fake...

I too collect old redline Hot Wheels, (spend way too much $$$ on them as well) and there is so many variations in colors from "antifreeze to emerald green" and from "hot pink to deep ruby red" and everywhere in between. There really is no definitive (sp) color rule. No Red is Red and Blue is Blue. The slightest difference in color can make a total difference in value as well. Plus it depends on the collector and what he is after and willing to pay. The most I seen a Mighty Maverick go for is over $1500 in it's original package. (I stopped bidding at $1000...) It was the lightest color of blue, almost like a watered down "windex" in color.
From what I can see in that picture I would say it is a 'toned' pink which is a darkening of the original color due to poor plating of the casting under the paint.
    Jay.....
