Have any of you tried removing your front anti sway bar for the sake of weight transfer? If so did it help your front end rise?
And how did the car handle without the bar?

    Old drag race trick...

...and I would be careful in curves!

I have seen it done and I don't see
that it makes that much difference.
Maybe it gives a little weight transfer
    advantage.

Yes I did remove mine on my strip only car and it helped me to pick the wheels up two feet in the air ! I've also had to chain the front to limit the travel do to 90/10 lakewoods breaking !
This being said I would not recomend this on the street because you will not be able to corner very well .

Have to agree with ValleyRacer, we have the same shocks on our Mav etc. However have not had the breakage probs, not running large motor but have inserted 1in spacers under the top shock mounts to allow less travel and transfer weight more quickly to the rear. Works for us but may not for others, little experimenting and such is all part of the drag race game etc. when hundreths of seconds is the difference between winning or putting it on the trailer.

    Sway bar.

    Heard a good one recently:
Rather than disconnecting or removing your sway bar end links, why not just make up some longer ones and still have a sway bar AND more rise?

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
i pulled the sway off one of my cars... yeah it helps a bit for weight transfer not to meantion some weight too.

as for cornering.. its really bad! if you have skinnys (ie: 15x3 ) its even worse! bottom line it sucks!

for a drag car i'd say go for it and yes.. a street car i'd say no.
