hey guys i need your help. i am trying to get the heater core box to drop and am having no luck. i have removed all the clips i can find. i've removed the a/c center section and slid the upper bracket loose on the a/c box. it seems to be still holding together right behind the top left corner as you are facing the dash. basiclly right behind the core. is there another hidden clip up there and if there is how do you get to it? i didn't know the box and core removal was this frustrating. any ideas??????

Not sure what is still in and habging up. If the heater core is still in there, it will not drop straight down. You have to pull it towards you, then down. I also had to remove the lower dash panel mounts to get mine out.

I do know that the A/C drain hose can be an unexpected snag. Hope this helps!

I remember that it was far easier to do this job with the lower half of the dash removed.

I believe there is also a stud in the core box that is up in the top left and points towards the driver side. There is a nut that holds it to the center ductwork assembly, and that needs to be removed.

Remove the nut, slide the assembly about 1/2 inch to the left and then down. The was another stud mounted in the box near that area too, if I'm not mistaken. It's been a couple of years, but make sure you have all the fasteners removed before getting too physical.
