you guys were helpful when i was working on my 69 mav so i'm hoping to get another request. im going to start restoring a torino for my dad so that he can finally have the car that he always wanted. he could afford to buy and insure his 73 gran torino but he wouldnt have been able to drive it. now i wannna make his dream come true. i had a guy email me with a 74 torino and i was hoping you could tell me what it would take to make the 74 clone a 73 gran torino.

It would take: Way too much work.

    Rear end is completely different.

the 73 and 72 torino's are the same (exept the front grill). in 74, ford re-did the torino simular to the redesign of the maverick from 73-74. once you find a car, the ranchero's share the same parts has the torino's.

73 had the potential to be the prettiest Torino EVER, but they tacked huge bumpers on and uglied it up forever... Securing 70-71 the title of "King" Torino for all eternity.

72 vs 73 was only a difference in front fenders, bumpers, and grille. Everything under the cosmetics, and the cosmetics from the cowl back, are identical.

I thought the hoods swapped... I had a 73 FB and a friend had a 72 FB, and the hoods looked identical, but I've never tried.

I knew the entire front cap, less hood... and rear bumper were different.

    I had a 73 Sport with CJ 351, C6, and TL 9" w/3.50 IIRC.
Silver with red lazer stripe, black deluxe bucket interior, gauge pack, etc...
Loved the car much like I love my 75... everything but the big bumpers.
