Hi all, I just found this site it's great lots of info & sweet cars, I don't have a maverick/comet but i'm looking locally (mid michigan). I was wondering what a good/fair price to pay for a decent car with a v8 and what to watch out for. Any help would be great Thanks

    What to look for.

Welcome to the Maverick world, if you ever have questions about mavericks this is the place to ask, there are lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here. As far as what to look out for when you are looking for a maverick, Rust is your number one enemy. Floor pans and cowl vents are the things I hear most people complain about. The 71-72 grabber models are the most desireable mainly due to the different hood. The six cylinder models, bone stock, are pretty slow (I know, I own one) so you will probobly want one with a 302. Mavericks are very fun cars that you can build up quite cheaply, but don't expect to get your money back if you decide to sell.
