ok. i've been looking on the internet for a part for a 1950 pontiac, but i can't seem to find it not even on ebay. my uncle owns a 1950 pontiac, and hes been helping me on my maverick and let me work on his cars as well. he even gave me the exhaust and welded it up for me for free, and he helped remove the duck tape when i bought it and got a friend to rebuild the carb for me and replaced the choke for me. well, his pontiac has the huge chrome strip going down the hood with the chief head hood ornament. the stip of chrome is screwed up, and now that i've got a job i figured i could save up and buy him a replacement, kinda as a way to thank him. hes the one who got me into old cars, and if he hadn't i wouldn't have my maverick more than likely and then i wouldn't have found this board and all these great people. anybody know where i can find one? how much are they? i appreciate any help guys. and i know its a gm product, but still, seems like the most knowledgeable people on any subject hang out here.
well, i checked it out and the only hit i got was some 1951 body parts that included a hood but no pics and i don't know if it has the trim or not and its a month old ad and its in california. who'da thunk such a big piece of chrome would be so hard to find?
not quite, he has one of those thats fine except for the chief head, what im looking for is the huge strip of chrome that goes under it. although if i can't find it i may just buy him one of those chief heads that's got the light in it. i think thatd be a nice touch.
