Hood latch tight!

    I am having problems getting my hood latch to release.
    It it real tight!!! Anybody else have this problem before, what did you do to get it to release. As for right now I can't open my hood.

    1977 Maverick 2 door with a 302.
    What you need to do is gease the latch real good. If you look through your grill, you can see the moving parts of the latch. Spray them with some CRC or WD40 and try to work the hood release while pushing down on the hood. Keep spraying it and working the hood release until it opens. Once you get it open, lube the latch with some wheelbearing grease and move the hood release until it moved freely.

    It worked!!!

    Jean your a real 'doll'. I know it is not original, but I am thankful for your advice! The car sat all winter so it was not budging. I had even tried to put a little persuasion on it, but no good. I sprayed some Siki Kroil on it with a spray nozzle, and sure enough after a few good squirts I was able to pop it open. I then lubricated it pretty good since it was still pretty tight.
