Does the horn have a fuse ? It was working and now it doesn't. I removed the steering wheel thinking it wasn't getting a good connection. I checked the wires and there is no fire on either wire.

It does, but not in the fuse block or something you can get at easily.
It is a 5A integral fuse with the headlamp switch. If your stop lights and the side markers / parking lights and licenses plate light are working the fuse is good.

Horns often go bad with age and the horn switch in the steering wheel is very prone to the plastic breaking with age. If you have the contacts in the steering wheel exposed, you can short them to test. But that only works if you know the horn itself is working. You can pull the horn and put 12v to it to test it.

Do the Mavericks have a horn relay? Mine has been apart for so long I can't remember!

No relay on my car from factory. I added Bosche type relays to horn, headlights and extra horn.

Check to make sure the horn still has a good ground to the apron. Take it off, clean the rust off the bracket where it touches the apron. Do the same with the apron spot.

Once upon a time, decades ago, my horn stopped working for no apparent reason. I sprayed WD40 inside and it has worked ever since
