Just got the July issue of Hot Rod magazine at the Waldy Mart monoply retail outlet. Have not gotten one for a long time because I felt the magazine was so full of non Ford and advertising pages that Super Ford was more informational. But having seen the front cover listing the article on the new Roush 347 crate engine, I had to shell out the 4 bucks and read it. Seems they installed this bad boy engine in a "Maverick" good reading but the morons never showed a picture of the car, just the engine bay. Do you suppose they think the car not worthy or maybe even too ugly to print a picture. I for one will still boycott that magazine and am going to email the editor to tell him of my disgust of the whole damn thing. Any others out there with me? Whew, at least I feel better now.

Ditto's Dave!! Seems like if they think the car worthy of a high dollar engine, it should be worthy of a few precious centimeters of their ad space, don't you think? I'm with you, Hot Rod has gotton away from real hot rodding, and into the 'sell every inch of the mag as ad space' mentality. Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?. Take care,

    Earl

If I'm not mistaken, Maverickmans white 73 was to receive that upgrade. I seem to remember on hot rod tv they were doing a spread on it. May just be the first of it. Now don't hold me to it, I'm not as young as I use to be and you know what they say about remembering as you get older.............now,what was I saying.

I saw a feature on that car with that engine on Hot Rod TV not too long ago, I believe. And I think the magazine has done a spread on the car itself in the past.

Haa Haa you are all right!

Old Guy…. Its my car that received the motor. However your right! And your right about it being It ugly… haa haa haa.

Anyways I saw the article when it came out and I was wondering the same thing. Where's the picture of my car! I think some people asked the same questions you did and they told them that picture of the car was too "soft" but I saw it and it looked fine… but who knows. Must have been the head editors decision to pull it at the last minute. So by all means! E-mail them! hotrod@primediacmmg.com tell them what you think! Now I shouldn't be complaining because I am very very grateful for the motor… however from a reader stand point your 100% right they should have put the picture of the car in it. Now since it was the cover story on HOT ROD TV they may have not want to run it in the magazine. However not everyone can get that program neverless the channel. And besides the TV spot ran way before the article did.

    As for the other speculations…

themav: the comet is a different motor… the guy lives down the street from me.. that car is fast.. but it also about 4000 lbs lighter.

Tyler: It was never in a spread in HOT ROD but it was in Super Ford back in 1993

So again guys e-mail away… ask them what the deal it… I'd like to know… anyhow that's what editors are for… to hear what you all have to say.

Here a picture of the car anyways. you can also check it out on my web page www.maverickman.com

Anyhow thanks for your intrest in the car.
