    That's tough...

You see, it's very difficult to put a value on cars that are no longer in blue books, because technically they're not worth very much to the insurance companies. Fanatics and enthusiasts pay whatever the vehicle is worth to them...so it's hard to put a "price" on any particular car.

Are you sure you don't want to build it? :)

    Sorry for not helping,
    Atzy.

thanks atzy, my original intentions were a mild 302 swap and a little dress up, however putting money into something of which my return will probably be small, on top of finding motor mounts etc. discouraged me... but i do enjoy driving it and im sure i would enjoy it more w/ a v8!!! if any one has connections for complete motor mounts i may rethink it...thanks again:rolleyes:

    Motor mounts

Between folks on this board and e-bay. swapping in a v-8 is a piece of cake. Ask on the board and check e-bay for maverick/Comet parts and you will find them. Maybe I missed it, is yours a 4 door or a 2 door. If it is a 4 door,(I am about to offend some of my friends on this board), it is not going to be worth very much compared to a 2 door. As for the non-grabber,GT and Stallion cars, and excluding some of the 'LDO' cars, the more modifications you add, the more someone may be willing to give you for it.

    Good Luck

    You know...

    Hey Firedog,

I'll offer to you first, since I just inherited it, but I have a '77 Mav with 302 I'm considering parting out. If you want, and if you give me a little time to take it apart, I'll sell you a "conversion kit" with the frame mounts, engine crossmember and tranny crossmember. Just let me know what it's "worth" to you!

FYI, I did the 250 to 302 swap and if you've got a buddy, use all the board resources, use parts from only one or two cars, and have a little time, it's quite straightforward.

    Oh, and don't listen to Little Red...my working Mav is a 4d and it's a definite head-turner.

    Good luck!
    Atzy.

    Re: four doors

You can always visit a Nascar shop, maybe they have a spare 4 door to 2 door conversion kit like they use on the Taurus lying around! Better yet, take the back door handles off and weld them up like a round track car!

    Just kidding!

Be proud of whatever you have!:D
