    Not sure of the size but I believe it will still fit in your maverick, because of the small trunk opening you will have to pull the heads and intake and possibly the pan, once you get it in past the trunk lid should have plenty of room, I would just use sand bags myself:rofl2:
    I have heard that the 400 chevy can't be bored much , pistons are too close together and will run hot, not sure be I remember hearing that

    The formula for cubic inch displacement is

    CID = Bore x Bore x Stroke x 0.7854 x Number of cylinders

    google, Bore and stroke calculator. Some websites will come up to where all you have to do is type in the info and it does the rest for you.

    Yeah, I wouldn't bore a 400 that much unless you live in Canada. Its cooling ability is already marginal because of the thin walls and the small water passages. I think in the Texas heat you'll have a hard time with it. This is why the 383 stroker is such a popular motor.

    408 cubes

    3.750 is the stock 400 stroke

    the bore will be 4.165

    Better sonic check the block if your gonna bore it.Thin wall castings dont tolerate much more than 20 over.

    I thought the 400 was a siamese casting?
    I know 4.185" pistons are common for them.:huh:

    If they are NOT siamese, I would be very weary of .040" over.

    they are siamese castings but i know 400's have thin walls if i do ima get a electric water pumb and fans and a 4 core radiator to make sure i dont crack the block or the sides of the cylinders.
