I told my wife all I wanted for Christmas was this little Hot Wheels Maverick and I wouldn't ask for anything else. She told me...well, get it!!! I told her to get it for me so it would be a surprise. She said, well...show me where it is. So I did! She's still on the floor. :rofl2:
I bet she won't say anything else about my diecast collection! (y)

I've seen them sell in the $300-$500 range but never that high.

The Hot Pink cars always go for the most in any Hot Wheels model. Second is the Plum color. I just sold a Hot Wheels car (Plum colored Challenger) I found underneath a cabinet while remodeling a kitchen a few years ago. It was used and scratched up and I still got $350. It really amazes me that people pay that kind of money for toys. I did a little research before I sold the car I found and there are some Hot Wheels valued in the thousands. Crazy!

I just saw one for sale yesterday, it had redlines, the body was chromed with a tribal-ish style stripe running down it, it lacked that spoiler on the back too. $15 was kinda pricy, figured I could invest it in a pair of valve covers.

That's more than mine cost. and I can DRIVE mine. That's just pathetic. when people will pay that much for a few cents worth of metal and plastic.
