I was looking at the mexican ford site and discovered something really amazing. Ford of Mexico keeps producing certain models to sell them dirt cheap. You can get your "brand new" F-150 (V6 only) and a F-250 (6.0 Powerstroke). They are 1997 F-150's with ridiculous prices. The F-150 goes for $16,600 dls and the F-250 for $17,000. The same with the superduty. Dealers are selling new super duties (past model) for $45,000. Crew Cab, 4x4, 6.0 Powerstroke, auto tranny, etc. Gonna try to convince my dad getting an F-250. :bananaman EDIT: visit: www.ford.com.mx
i bought an F-250 super duty, 6.0 dsl, crew cab, auto in 2005. it was the 2004 model. my price was $32k. i'm still happy with it. been to kentucky twice and virginia once, bakersfield-california twice, ft. worth, texas once and just returned from las vegas a couple of weeks ago. no trouble at all as long as i can keep tires on it. pulls my 28' enclosed trailer like it's not even there.
What are the possibilities of buying a vehicle in Mex and then registering it in the US. I doubt very seriously that they are legal for US... Would be like bringing a Euro spec car over here. They make you upgrade glass, mirrors, bumpers, emissions, etc... if they do not meet US spec. Can be SUPER expensive! Won't let the car be registered before this is done. I don't even think customs will allow it in country until arrangements are made above board with reputable 'converter'. Dave
nah, I don't think they are to harsh with that. Maybe it could be a problem with older cars, but I don't know. I don't see why could it be a problem with a new truck or a Focus ST (yeah, we get those here!).
Old cars are easier than new. One reason that diesels are almost an 8k option here is new emission laws. They have a diesel fired incinerator in the exhaust now! Adds about 3k to the price of the diesel option. The 6.0 PSD is no longer legal after 1-1-07 production either. They went to a twin turbo 6.4 PSD to meet emissions.
