Not sure if this is "technical" or "cosmetic" but here goes... On <'73 Mavs it's the curved part under the front bumper that has little lights in the corners. How easy is it to put one of those on a '75 and does anyone happen to have pictures of such a setup? Is there an article on it somewhere? What additional parts would I need? Thanks for the input, Atzy.
I'm confused. The front valence on the 73 cars is unique to that year. And there aren't any lights under the bumper. On the 70-72 cars there are lights under the front bumper in the corner of the top of the valence for the turn signals. If that is what you are talking about then you need to do a bumper swap. If none of this is what you are talking about then I am still confused.
It is called a valance panel. It would probably bolt right on your car but you'll have to make a center support bracket. You wont see much of it with those big bumpers though. The lights are attached to the bumpers, not the valance.
Oh, okay. Well, you folks could probably tell that I don't know much about those things...since I don't have one. What I want to do is get one and put lights in it, so I can have turn signals (in the valence) and foul-weather lights in the grille. Thanks for the input. Yours, Atzy.
You would have to convert to small bumpers to do what you want, or, you could make cutouts in your existing bumper and mount a set of lights in it.
yep thats Chris and Marcy Stouts car.....and it has the lower valance and the big bumpers too......along with a lower spoiler....
Is there a pic of it online? (Stout's car ) I always thought the area under my 74's frt bumper looked like it's missing something. ANybody else do anything to fill it on a big bumper car?
well you might go to mustang & fords web siet......it was still on there a few weeks back......if not I'll see if Chris has some he can post
