Forget these guys. Just got a note from them saying they are ot of stock. I'll hang on to their note to make sure they do not charge my credit card.

I found 3 Comets at a hobby shop by Knott's Berry Farm Thursday. He wants $65. ea. That's a little steep for me.

That Comet looks pretty nice. I might order one up and make a Maverick out of it.

I can't remember the name of the company right now, but there is someone that makes a resin conversion kit to make the Jo-Han Comet into a Maverick. I'll post it when I can remember who it is.

Just for the record, there aren't any models of Mavericks currently being produced. The ones that you see for sale now and then are old stock. The most commonly available one is the Maverick Prostock by Johan. They no longer have the mold for it. They do still make the Comet though. A number of nice Maverick models were offered over the years. AMT had at least one, as did MPC, I think. There were stock 6 cyl. versions offered, funny cars, street machines, etc. You just have to keep watching (eBay gets them fairly often) and be willing to pay the bucks for models that are no longer being made. I've bought 2 unopened Prostock versions for about $35 each. They are nice models. Good luck. John B.

Let me know if you need a Grabber hood for it. I can get a limited number of them for the Johan model. They are custom-made...

T.L , I might be interested in one of those hoods. I am redoing a john kit and a grabber hood might look good on it.

T.L., I would also be interested in a Grabber hood, maybe even two. I have a couple of kits and would like to build at least one of them as a Grabber.
