Leaded or UNLEADED

    I just picked up a 1971 do I need to run an additive?

    What engine do you have?

    These days you should base your fuel on what compression your running and your timing.


    No additives are needed. Do they even sell Leaded fuel out there? They dont here....

    If the heads do not have hardened exhaust valve seats you will need to run an additive.

    I never did on my 289 heads, they looked fine when i removed them.

    They should be enough lead residue in the valve face/seat to last the rest of the engine’s life.

    You should be fine with 87/89, thats what i run in my 200 and with aggresive timing at that!
