All Fresh Cherries and Sweet Cherries are made by MotorMax. The primered Mavericks and Comets are only available as a unassembled kit. They're still diecasts, just not assembled. Here's a photo of one.

You guys are really lucky if you can find any of this stuff at Wal Mart. I have been to Target, Wal Mart and Toys R Us with no luck.

Doesn't "diecast" mean that it is metal? At least, I think so.:)

    Diecasts

Yes, all the MotorMax Fresh Cherries and Sweet Cherries cars are metal bodies with plastic chassis, engine, and interiors. They can be modified, but the JoHan model kits are 1:25 scale so few, if any, pieces from them can be used on the diecasts without modification.

For those having trouble finding them in their local stores, if you check my eBay store, I have some of them available for sale - overpriced of course. And keep in mind, two colors of the Maverick and two colors of the Comet are not scheduled to be released individually boxed, so as of now, they're not supposed to ever show up at Wally World, etc. I also heard that Toys R Us has already scheduled to discontinue the Sweet Cherries line. I think the retail giants learned their lessons by getting stuck with WAY too many of the 1:24 scale Pintos and Gremlins, so they cut back on orders for the Mavericks and Comets. Some areas my never get many, while some regions appear to get lots of them.

Just to add to the list that Chuck has provided MotorMax, Fresh Cherries or Sweet Cherries what ever you want to call them also have in diecast kit form a 1:24 scale 74 Maverick in yellow or white also besides primered, that is what I have seen in this neck of the woods sorta hit and miss at stores some Walmarts were loaded and others had none.

JLs Christmas ornament cars are hard to come by but managed to get 5 of them and 16 of the 74 Maverick unassembled cars in primer, white and yellow.
